Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles... Won't Be on Next Month Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles suffered many setbacks in its lone two seasons, from budget cuts that stripped the essential action from the show, to the insufferable Riley and Jesse diversions, to far too many boring Sarah-centric episodes designed to make us just fall in love with the miscast Lena Headey, but despite all of that, it really was a fantastic show. And as August winds down and I get more and more amped for all my favorite shows to return, I just can't get the disappointment that Cameron, Derek, Ellison and John Henry won't be returning to my viewing schedule out of the back of my mind.

The classic example of something that never should have tried to be anywhere but cable, T:SCC was far too genre to find an audience before it was sent to Fridays to die, so we'll never know what John and Weaver would have been in the dystopian future, teamed up with Kyle, Derek and Allison from Palmdale, or how Sarah and Ellison would have reunited with them, or what would become of John Henry. Can't wait to go through this all over again with my beloved Fringe next year, after Grey's Anatomy and CSI slaughter it in its new Thursday night timeslot. Ohh, Fox. We meet again.

But at least we'll always have the DVDs. And Hulu, which only has the last nine episodes of Season 2 for whatever mysterious Hulu reason, and not my favorite episode in the series, the Season 1 finale, but I guess that's what my home collection is for. Watch 'em here (except for that awful sleep clinic one -- don't even get me started) and smite Fox in the comments at will.

Why didn't they just shift it to FX? Why do they let good TV die instead of making it work?

Thanks for reminding me of the huge disappointment I received a couple months ago. This is why I primarily stay away from Fox.

Lena Headey won me over, she made Sarah Connor more badass than Linda Hamilton ever dreamed. She just needs a little practice with gun handling.
If you didn't love each and every episode of the Sarah Connor Chronicles, read here:

Lena Headey was not miscast.

She was, but unfortunately, that wasn't the only reason why the show was canceled.

it's really sad that i only have FOX and ABC as American Channels in my room (i'm not sure i have a lot more in the Living room thought, i think they are mostly Canadian) i mean, there are good shows on FOX and ABC (Fringe, Ugly Betty, Dollhouse, Family Guy, etc.) but damn, i really, really hate FOX for doing what they did to TSCC.

The whole thing with Lena Headley was less about her being miscast than it was about the show being mis-titled and/or wrongly focused from the beginning. Her story lines were interesting enough, but they were afforded too much attention and air time; that is, they should have, for the most part, been subplots. Sarah was by far the least interesting character. Had the show capitalized on Dekker and Glau's characters (Beyond, you know, the fairly misleading advertisements that featured Glau despite the fact her character was generally relegated to subplot and "muscle" status.), I think it's possible that the series would have garnered a larger audience.

That said, this show never belonged on Fox.

Lena Headley kicked ass! Fox should have kept TSSC and axed Dollhouse (that show sucks)

Well, imho Lena wasn't so bad. Ok, maybe she had only few expressions but I think it was due to the character writing not her acting skills.

However I'm still hoping the return of TSCC perhaps in a "direct-to-DVD" format.

Despite FOX (that I hate deeply, sorry guys, but you should have tried at least with a short 9 episodes serie), I hope that at least some questions will be answered at the end...

The show didn't really get its legs until the uncle came along. Then the silly John has a girlfriend stuff and Sarah is tortured(really? As if that wasn't already established before the show began.)crap interrupted the momentum they had gained. This show had phenomenal moments mixed with what the Hell were they thinking moments that bogged it down.

I loved the show, warts and all, and the contrast between Lena Headley and her character's thoughtful commentaries and the attendant badass action was, as far as I'm concerned, the heart of the show.

The Ridley story was a dreadful puzzling bore through most of its run, but it had a dazzling payoff.

FOX can add TSCC to its wall of shame, right next to Firefox. Save a spot for Fringe. And yet they find time on their schedule for More to Love.

*$#^! I didn't know it was cancelled. I love pretty much everyone (except when John got annoying) and this is a case of "FOX sucks". I loved Firefly.
I really hope Dollhouse makes it - what goes on in these programmers minds?

There was nothing brilliant about this show, nothing. This show had an already built-in fan base and it still couldnt get anyone to watch, the fanbase that did watch groans on and on about the main character of the story which I find laughable, the only damn interesting thing about this show was Lena Headey. She was not miscast, not by a long shot.

The show only had 2 friggin seasons; of course it was not going to be perfect. Graphpaper-brained studio execs and instant gratification-demanding audiences are what makes TV suck.

"Cheers" was dead-friggin-last in the ratings during its first season, but they didn't nuke it right away, and it eventually went on to be one of the most popular shows ever.

Fox kills TSCC just when it's starting to get good, but they let the friggin Simpsons go on forever and ever, and it's so damn stale there's green hair growing on it.

TSCC was the best show ever on any TV network. At first I was a doubter but, Hedley won me over as Sarah. She and the rest of the cast were excellent. If some episodes dragged you can lay that on the writers. What people don't get is, it wasn't an explosion show. T4 was an explosion show and it sucked. It was a "people" show. It was about the excellent characters the cast created and their interactions with each other. RE-Watch it on dvd and you will be able to appreciate the interplay, the direction, the great camera work. When you sum up all its parts you realize there was never a TV show this good.

Man! I was even starting to get over the fact that Terminator got cancelled. The last six episodes of the season were damn near perfect. A fantastic new storyline where the Terminator franchise had never gone before. And of course, they cancel an amazing TV show and give us a shitty movie. Thanks, FOX and WB. Thanks a lot.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, My favorite show. To tell the truth I am really tired of these networks failure to back up great entertainment. Come on, if you can’t see a show thru to the end why start it. We should be able to rate networks like everything else. Now I have no confidence that this network will carry any programming to its full. Why should I begin to watch any new shows from this network. Fooled me, one too many times.

Wow. I don't think this show should of been cancelled. It was a fantastic show... still is. I don't understand why the cancelled it. I think the ratings were wrong and friday was a stupid day to put it on anyways... I think they should of given it another year or even half a year to see what could happen. Damn Fox people, they are so mean.

Fox F*cks up everything they really do. Any winner of a show they screw up. Look at family guy, didn't that originally get cancelled? This was a great show, each week was practically like another movie, it was brilliant.I hope someone resurrects it because it was too good to lose.
