Not having lived in a college dorm room for for a few years, I find that keeping up with what's going on on Cartoon Network's [adult swim] isn't really that high up on my to-do list any more. This is mostly because I have to be awake before noon, not to mention how the deeper meanings behind the absurdity of a talking ball of meat is lost without a room full of friends who can relate to him all too well. Tuning in a few days ago I was glad to see that most of [adult swim]'s original programing isn't much different, however the channel is really slacking with the syndicated programing choices.
Seriously, [adult swim], you are going to show me God, the Devil, and Bob and Baby Blues? Do you play these shows so that you're viewers can get to Taco Bell for fourth meal without missing anything they care about? These aren't shows like Tim and Eric where some people might not get the jokes, there aren't actually any jokes on these shows. Sure you like to pick up cancelled cartoons that are cheap and want to promote their DVDs, but even if you got the rights to these shows for nothing you were fleeced. I also see that you're still airing InuYasha. Even people who haven't seen the series are bored of that show. So here are a few suggestions that could actually keep someone up past Letterman's monologue.
The Ren & Stimpy Show
Not only a classic, [adult swim] would have been nothing but anime after dark without it proving that strange humor can work on TV. If it's because the show aired on Nickelodeon so it doesn't seem cool enough for you, just show the Adult Party Cartoon John K. made for Spike a few years ago, but was cancelled way too quickly.
Clone High
In spite of its generic visuals and almost too silly setup this high school sitcom actually works. And because you like to mess with your viewers, you'll be glad to know that the series ended on a cliffhanger.
Liquid Television
Maybe our memories of the early '90s are a bit fuzzy, but Liquid Television had everything. And without a DVD set of the series available we would be forced to watch [adult swim] to relive this amazing fever dream.
Aeon Flux
A spinoff of Liquid Television, this is the closest the US has ever come to making good anime. Show some American pride.
The Real Ghostbusters
Considering how fired up people get over the idea of a third Ghostbusters movie, you could probably talk people into watching it as a way of convincing Bill Murray to finally agree to another movie.
The Adventures of Pete & Pete
This show is way darker than anyone remembers it. We're pretty sure that at least half of the episodes involve at least one of the Petes almost killing someone or almost dying themselves.
The Tick (the live action one)
Picking up funny shows that Fox runs into the ground is what you do, right?
Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn
Not only is it a new Gundam, it has a silly title. These two facts alone will cause everyone who watches anime on [adult swim] to be unable to ever change the channel again.
What shows do you think [adult swim] should show?

One of the other cartoony channels plays Ren & Stimpy all the time. No Real Ghostbusters- still too traumatized by the Boogie-Man episodes.
I get [adult swim] makes more money airing their own programming (and the subsequent DVD sales) rather than anime, but I hate that they only air anime one night a week and they're currently only airing new episode of three series. There's a ton of anime series that could be popular on AS like Soul Eater, D. Gray-Man, Darker Than Black, etc.
1. The Critic: it was a favorite of mine as a kid, but I think I'll get more of the jokes now.
2. Daria: I didn't have cable growing up, so I missed this show. I heard it was awesome, though. (I know it's in music licensing hell, but a girl can dream...)
3. The Tick (cartoon) and Eek The Cat: Two children's shows that stoners (and young adults like myself) will surely appreciate.
4. The anime Detroit Metal City: Japan's hysterical answer to Metalocalypse. A long-shot due to the number of profanities used per episode...
I think licensing red tape keeps [as] from the aforementioned domestic stuff. Anime-wise, Soul Eater and Detroit Metal City would be great "gets." Praise Nathan Explosion all you want, but can he say "rape" ten times in one second like Lord Krauser II? I even got this sketch of him last year.
Daria will never be shown on a non-Viacom channel. They refuse to licence any of their cartoon shows outside their brand network, which is why it has shown up on Logo and The N. It has nothing to do with the music - if it was just that they could run the musically modified episodes that are on the DVD.
The best chance for Daria to get any decent tv revival is for it to show up on Comedy Central.
In addition, my guess is that Clone High, Liquid Television, Aeon Flux, and Ren and Stimpy also fall under Viacom's umbrella, which is why it's not going to happen as long as Viacom keeps up their archaic syndication policy.
Toonami was so much better...
Earthworm Jim. Oh, and Freakazoid.
Daria, animaniacs and some of it's spin-offs. I don't agree about the Inuyasha, but they do need to get The Final Chapter. I know it's out on the net, but I want the good quality dubbing you get on CN, not subbing.
'Pete and Pete'and 'Ren and Stimpy' are supposed to be on the new line-up of revived shows on Teen Nick. At least someone's showing them!
I also loved Stick Figure Theater and Winter Steele.
They show Daria some Saturdays on LOGO.
The only series I wish they would pick up is Dr. Katz; I would prefer that they spend one night a week showing movies. Some of Ralph Bakshi's old films, or Yellow Submarine. Heck, even The Animatrix.
Those Anime are for children and really annoying... how about some Fairy Tail or some Ouran Highschool Host Club or even Jigoku Shoujo and Kuroshitsuji or Angel Feather or Gakuen Heaven and Gokusen. I'd sit down and watch those. I don't even bother with adult swim now but when I was younger and they had those amazing shows like Outlaw Star and Trigun and all that on and even the original stuff I stayed up to watch them but now I feel like "meh"...
It's not really the typical [adult swim] but i would love to see Reboot!
What do you have against Baby Blues anyway? It's about that rough transition phase between married and married with children. Most of what you've suggested are kids' shows. There's a reason it's not called [kidswim].
Adult swim needs to go back to the format they had when they started on CN, futurama was great and so was robot chicken but now they got what they consider "funny" when none of it is anymore, i do miss when they would show truly funny shows now adult swim is just dumb
Daria plays on LOGO
Duckman!!
Samurai Jack
They need to pick up Dr. Katz & Beavis and Butt-head.
I would also like to see them show Home Movies frequently. Even though they own it, it's rarely on.
A lot of what Adult Swim plays right now I think is absolute crap. Tim and Eric? Children's Hospital? Stupid. I've watched episodes and thought "who actually LIKES this"?
If we're going with anime, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ranma 1/2, Fushigi Yuugi.. those are good shows that have a long run that Adult Swim can play with. Ranma's more light hearted but hey, we can't be serious all the time.
Bring back Sym-Bionic Titan!
Bring back Sym-Bionic Titan!
I loved Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Sealab, Aqua Teen Hunger Force - Funny shows. I do agree, however, that Pete & Pete should be added to the lineup. How about You Can't Do That On Television? Classic.
They really should air "Spawn". Remember that HBO series from the late 1990s? It would go great with "Cowboy Bebop".
I wish someone would make more episodes of Frankenhole!
A few decent name-drops. But if you guys don't appreciate Tim & Eric and Delocated, then you have your heads up you're asses.
They aren't shows for nerds like a lot of adult swim fare - comedy nerds maybe.

If you're still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you'll know which is right for you.

Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

The worlds largest Social Network Facebook IPO's, but did it really get off to a good start? The initial price was $38 and had plenty of financial support from banks but this coming week we look forward to see what happens when the stabilizers are removed and the cloude can settle. One thing is for certain this was one of the biggest tech IPO's in all time but I cannot forsee the price going north, only toward the ground. The social network is not Google, its a website and not a tech platform as strongly as Zuckerberg wants to believe.
