With ABC Family's summer lineup of teen dramas under way, the romances on shows like Pretty Little Liars get me all nostalgic for some of my past favorite young couples. If one thing hasn't changed since the mid-'90s and early '00s, it's that these soap operas starring teenagers are always filled with intense, over-the-top relationships. So maybe Hanna and Caleb or Spencer and Toby can learn something from these other pairings that fans used to obsess over. (Though when half of the duo is a grown adult who used to be his underage girlfriend's teacher, it might be a bit more tricky... Sorry, Aria and Ezra.)

You've heard the type: They know everything. But how? How could some of these TV characters know things that took place when there was only one person around - and it wasn't them? Or sometimes they know other people's innermost thoughts and secrets before they're ever revealed. Some of these folks are dead and speaking from beyond the grave, some have never been seen by anyone and some are talking from a future perspective. We're not sure how it's possible, but it seems to happen a lot on television, so we're looking back at the best shows that feature omniscient characters (not necessarily narrators) from both today and yesteryear. You know you love them. Xoxo.

This isn't about cougars chasing after twentysomething guys or college students hooking up with professors. We're talking about relationships between adults and underage teenagers that are actually illegal, among other things. Yet, while they're illicit, ill conceived and dangerous in the real world, we can't get enough of them on scripted TV. Hell, some of them are our favorite small-screen couples of all time. While there is a current rash of hot-for-teacher storylines, there have also been plenty of other underage characters who've fallen for someone far too old for them.
