Daily Picks For Monday, February 11, 2008

A couple of new prime-time offerings, a couple of intriguing nonfiction possibilities, and MATT DAMON MATT DAMON MATT DAMON! After the jump.
Muldering It Over: By the time you read this, Sci Fi will be into a nine-hour X-Files marathon, including some noteworthy episodes like "Squeeze" at 10 AM and "Paper Hearts" at 4 PM. (Sci Fi, 8 AM to 5 PM)

I Am A Ridiculous Person: The only thing I know about the movie Diva is that Jeff Buckley uses it during the patter on Live at Sin-e to describe his relationship with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Welcome to the trivia that consumes me. (Flix, 9 AM)

Fraud Alert: I'm oddly transfixed by stories of con artists, and if you are as well, you might enjoy this morning's American Justice, which focuses on game-show scandals, famous forgeries, and other things the Justice Department has been up to. Just kidding! Don't subpoena me! (A&E, 10 AM)

Pilot Alert: Back in the day,  and only for about ten minutes, Dharma & Greg was kind of entertaining. Susan Sullivan is divine to the nth degree, and Thomas Gibson is adorable. Jenna Elfman, I just...don't know, but the charming pilot is around for the taking today. (WE, 10 AM)

Squeeeee!: Don't tell me -- you just got back from seeing Fool's Gold, and you are SO EXCITED about the awesome screen chemistry between Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey that you just had to run right home and watch How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days. Am I right? Huh? Huuuuuuh? (USA, 11:30 AM)

Pro Cons: I suspect the National Geographic two-hour special Prison Nation isn't very uplifting, but it's an interesting topic that doesn't get nearly enough play. Tune in, learn just how many people we've got locked up (mostly for drugs), and be amazed. (National Geographic, 4 PM)

Schlocky/Upsetting: Four episodes of Jericho air tonight in preparation for its unexpected return this week, beginning with the pilot. I am told that the show improved over its run, but -- as I went on about on the record here in great detail to my pal Neda Ulaby -- the pilot was one of the most laughably awful things I had ever seen at the time. (Before you email me or Neda, it really was called Betty The Ugly at one time.) (Sci Fi, 7 PM)

Orange You Glad It's Not The Movie: You know, I'd normally think of Dance War: Bruno Vs. Carrie Ann as kind of lame, but tonight, the touring cast of High School Musical (which I think is technically High School Musical: The Musical) performs "We're All In This Together," so now, it will not be lame at all. It will be wonderful. Transcendent. We're all in this together! (ABC, 8 PM)

As The Title Promises Alert:
The escape continues on a new Prison Break. (Fox, 8 PM)

Country Roads: Robert Plant and Alison Krauss appear on CMT's Crossroads. Don't say I never did anything for you, country-music people! (CMT, 8 PM)

Silver "Fox":
Tonight, on an all-new Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, we have a visit from Brian Austin Green. I thought when he was on that show with Freddie Prinze, Jr., he was calling himself "Brian A. Green," or "B-Green," or "The Bag" or something identity-hiding like that. Maybe he changed his mind. (Fox, 9 PM)

They're Taking Over Reality TV, I Know That Much:
Having just finished Jon Krakauer's marvelous book Under The Banner Of Heaven, I might just have to check out PBS's two-part documentary The Mormons. Quite a tale. (PBS, 9 PM, or check local listings)

Non-Jericho-Related Apocalypse Alert:
Oh God. Paradise Hotel 2. Oh God. (9 PM, MyTV)

Non-Jericho-Related Apocalypse Alert 2:
Oh God. Flavor Of Love 3. Oh God. (9 PM, VH1)

Huh: Keckler nemesis Andy Cohen hosts Bravo's new special, 20 Most Outrageous Bravo Moments. I can't imagine how they're going to narrow it down to twenty. (Bravo, 10 PM)

Oh My God, You Guys:
It's the Matt Damon episode of Will & Grace. If you've recently watched the YouTube sensation featuring him and Sarah Silverman, you won't want to miss this appearance, which was the moment when everybody realized that in addition to having a hot native accent, he was completely awesome. (Lifetime, 11:30 AM)
