Bono has a body double.
If you consider yourself any kind of music snob, you should set your TiVo and make sure you catch Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man (Sundance 2:30 PM). Though obvi if you were a real music snob you'd have seen this puppy in theaters when it came out three years ago. And while we're on the topic, does Bono have to be in every effing artist-centric documentary produced since the year 2000? Seriously he was in the Bukowski one and the Joe Strummer one and this one in the last three years alone. How does he find the time between saving sub-Saharan Africa and releasing increasingly mediocre albums? It's mind-boggling.
Clearly the folks at ABC are banking on the Mae West truism that too much of a good thing can be wonderful by putting the two new kamikaze reality shows Wipeout (ABC, 8 PM) and I Survived a Japanese Game Show (ABC, 9 PM) back to back. I am not so convinced.
We've covered 2000 and 2001. Tonight on the latest installment of VH1's jump-the-shark bonanza I Love the New Millenium (VH1, 9 PM) we'll take a nostalgic look at back at 2002 -- which I don't remember because I'd just turned 21 sixth months prior and was undertaking a virulent alcohol-fueled attack on my brain cells at that juncture. So I for one am grateful for the memory-jogging.
I appreciate what WE is trying to do with shows like Secret Lives Of Women and Women Behind Bars. But Chain Gang Girls (WE, 8 PM)? Really? It's called enough already. If I catch wind of a show called Ladies' Morning Ablutions I'm Audi 5000.
Joy! A new episode of Flipping Out (Bravo, 10 PM). If you haven't become a Jeff Lewis acolyte by now, there is something wrong with you. And I mean that in a helpful way. Go get yourself looked at.
Those weird new "mini-sodes" of Rescue Me (FX, 10 PM) start tonight. So if you have six minutes to spare, let me know whether or not it sucks.
