Buckle up! This compelling, yet baffling series is back for its fifth season, and it is sure to be a bumpy ride. It better be worth the wait. These long, long breaks in between seasons are kind of killing me. And the never ending streak of teaser trailers has just built my anticipation up to a fever pitch. So it starts up again tonight with a two-hour episode. And somehow they've seen fit to find a way to bring bad ass Ana-Lucia back (in a flashback, I presume), because even though Michelle Rodriguez got into all kinds of trouble with the local law in the real world and they had to kill her character off, she's still more important to this story than Libby. Or at least that's how it seems.
Anyway, the Oceanic Six are off living their lives, ignoring the fact that an island disappeared, having all manners of downward spirals, or living in sweet houses and raising someone else's kid, when they are told that they have to go back. All of them. In order to save the lives of the people still there. Now how do you find an island that has up and disappeared (in space and possibly time) thanks to the help of Ben and his frozen donkey wheel? Your guess is as good as mine. But I'm sure I'll be glued to my TV set to find out. Even though the concept of Jack and Ben carrying a dead Locke around sounds a little Weekend at Bernie's on paper. The press release teases that an old friend offers some shocking advice to Kate to keep "the lie" a secret. Old friend? Could it be Walt? He's got to be at least 40 by now.
Get caught up on Lost with our recaps, and check our listings to see what else is on tonight.

Can't wait!!
Gotta say, I'm /really/ missing the old format. I didn't even realize these were the same things until I started reading them (as none of the shows picked interest me).
I used the old format all the time to see what was on, this version isn't really terribly helpful.
I agree. Even though I love Lost & reading about the premiere tonight, I prefer seeing at a glance a few key shows on that night. I've quickly set my DVR in the morning multiple times thanks to tips in GTC.
I'm not a fan of the new format either... I think if you want to hilight one show of the night, that's fine, just give those of us who don;t want to watch that show some other options.
Yeah, another Going Through Channels blog about a show I don't watch!!!! This format stinks.
Well, I can't wait for tonight. I'm a huge Lost fan and when I saw this article on the home page I couldn't wait to read it. Not sure what all the fuss about new formats are since it was clear on the home page, but Angel, seeing your article today and knowing in a few short hours my fav show would be back, I need to say thanks!! This season is just going to be mindblowing!
HEE!!! Donkey Wheel.
Squeeee! I'm so excited Lost is back! And now thanks to you, Angel, I'm secretly hoping for Weekend At Bernie's -style hijinks with Locke's corpse.
Also, it's useless to hype a show without telling us the times. I read, or used to read, this blog to see what's on when.
Okay, I've given the new format a chance, but it's now highlighted FNL, Desperate Housewives, House, Fringe, and Lost. With the possible exception of FNL, these are all established shows on major networks that fans already watch. I know that I don't like any of them because I've already tried.
If I wanted to read a recommendation to watch popular shows I'd go to TV Guide. I thought the point of this feature was to let people know shows they might have missed on TV, not things that their DVRs are already set for if they care at all.
At this point it should either be called "Preview of Most Popular Show on TV Tonight" or "Going Through the Network Channels One By One".
