BLOGS
I'm not even sure where to begin. If you watch this show, then you know that tonight is the two-part series finale. Series. Finale. It seems weird to say that. My brain comprehends that this is the end of the show, and I'm happy that it gets to end on its own terms, but I'm still a little bit in denial emotionally. If you aren't a fan... then someday you might come to your senses and see the light. But I've done my share of trying to convince people that it is worth watching over the last four seasons. Now I am just going to focus on enjoying the last two hours (sadly I wasn't lucky enough to see them earlier this week like some other press folks), and hoping, praying that they are satisfying for not only myself, but for all of the other devotees. Last week's episode bodes well for these final two hours. I especially enjoyed what they did with the flashbacks to life on Caprica -- a glimpse into happier times (for some... like Sam) or equally miserable times (like Laura). But it is a small sample of their everydayness before they were trapped in space, searching for earth... which ended up being nothing. It's a peek into lives that have changed so dramatically, worlds that don't even exist anymore, people that don't necessarily exist anymore. It's a bizarre little time capsule. I hope we get more of it tonight.
I also hope that we get some answers. While Adama's moving speech to the masses gave me goosebumps (I would have been swayed to cross the line to the starboard side and declare my allegiance to this potential suicide mission). I want to know more about the opera house, find out what the heck Starbuck is, see who ends up living, learn if Galactica survives or busts apart, and see if Cavil gets his damned self boxed for good, or if they found a way to rebuild the resurrection ship, and find out if Baltar mans up and does one selfless thing for a change. I've got my theories rolling around in my head, but mostly, I just want to see how it all plays out. I hope it is something that gives resolution and doesn't end in a perplexing fade to black. Though, I'd be OK if there are one or two details left to the imagination, or speculation. As long as the big stuff gets wrapped-up.
Mostly, I hope they do right by these characters. I hope that they give these actors some action-packed, but heavy-hitting emotional scenes to handle. It shouldn't be too tough of a task. They've done it a lot before. Even last week when Bill told Kara that he knew who she was -- he knew she was his daughter -- was beautifully simple. OK. I might have teared up a little bit. Or when he told Doc Cottle to get back in line. Sniff. Also when Laura walked out to join Bill. Yeah, there were tears. I hate to cry at television shows, but I know that I'm going to be weeping like a little baby throughout this finale. From Laura's seemingly inevitable death to whatever Hera's fate may be, to however they resolve the future of the human and cylon races. It's going to be a heartbreaker. I can just feel it in my gut. And I wouldn't miss it for the world. But I will miss this show. A lot.
So say we all.

*sniff*
I'm excited and scared and nervous and ready all at once! This show will be the death of me, but what a fantastic way to go.
So say we all.
I'm not expecting alot of answers, especially since there's a BSG movie coming out in June .
It's subtitled: The Plan.
You took the words right out of my mouth...especially the part about trying to convince everyone to watch...
So say we all.
Gods, there's nothing to add except so say we all . . . and, waaahhhhhhhhh. Our show is ending. :(
SO SAY WE ALL!
I was disappointed with parts of the ending, no show is perfect. Yet the I will miss this show. The ending was worthy of the prior seasons and answerd most questions while leaving a desire for more. Starbuck an Angel., Baltar and 6 agents of God(s) were disappointments. Yet the goodbyes made the show. Adama and Laura, Saul and Ellen were inspiring. Galactic proved she was the star of the show taking punishment and taking care fo her crew. I will miss the characters and the universe they created.
