BLOGS
If you didn't believe me a few weeks ago when I babbled on for a while about how ER was really enjoyable in its final season, you've got no excuse but to check it out now. Everything old is new again and its got all kinds of emotions and whatnot. With people you might recognize even (lots of 'em... coughClooneycough).
Noah Wyle's Dr. Carter has got this whole failed kidney thing going on for the last couple episodes. If you remember way back when he got stabbed he lost one, but now his other one is trouble because his work in Africa led to him contracting some weird kidney-attacking disease (I'm not good with that fancy medical jargon).
Eriq LaSalle is back as Dr. Benton and he's a surgeon at a hospital (but not working at County, because no sane doctor would still be working there after all these years). And Julianna Margulies is back solely to get the chance to work with Susan Sarandon. I'm sure there's some other reason, but that seems to be the point. And she gets to wear a stylish suit. This episode looks like it is pretty heavy on the Old Timers, rather than the newbies, so if you wanted to check back in to ER this is the time. Also, this is reportedly the one with George Clooney. See how I saved the best for last? Yeah, and you are going to kick yourself if you miss him in all his hotness.
If for some reason you'd rather watch Private Practice instead, it is on, but you are probably going to at least want to set your DVR for this on NBC at 10 PM. Because... George Clooney! In case I didn't mention that. See everything else that's on for the remainder of this week in our week in preview post.

That's all it takes to get y'all to sit through an hour of ER, a rumor about George Clooney? Hmm, making mental note for my future TV series...
Actually, I don't care about Clooney. I want to see how this Carter-needs-a-kidney is going to work out. Although having Benton back will awesome too.
Man, I haven't watched this show in AGES, but I'll be watching tonight. I, too, am excited about Benton, Michelle. I'm skeptical about an actual appearance by Clooney because the previews keep saying everyone will be back, but he's the only one they don't show. I fear he'll be there in like a phone call or an e-mail or something lame. I'll keep my fingers crossed, though.
I'm one of the faithful who have been watching since 1994. I was 12 then. I'm thoroughly enjoying this last season - they are giving the show a good send off. Carter was always my favourite so I was tickled to see him back on my screen. Tonight should be epic.
George was so darn comfortable in this role tonight and all the "formers" just fell into place with him. It realistically showed their characters' progression and I loved the way Benton took charge of overseeing Carter's operation. This was a DELIGHTFUL show and a big message for the transplant program. Tugged on a few heart strings, I'm sure -- Thanks to some fine actors.
Fine actors indeed. They all performed superbly (even the super-newbie Susan Sarandon). But I have to say, my heart melted and I wanted to jump out of my skin upon seeing Benton and Carter, and Doug and Carol together again!!!!!!
Carter was always my favourite, and he still just melts me. *sigh*
So glad I accidentally found it last night. Might try to remember to look for it again next week.
What an AMAZING episode!!! I have been watching ER since day 1 and last night's episode just reminded me of how phenomenal the writers, cast and producers/directors are to put together such an Awesome hour of television. Absolutely loved seeing Doug and Carol together and the dynamic of Benton and Carter. This show will be greatly missed!!!!
