"They are coming." You'll be hearing those words a lot over the next week. I don't know about you all, but the season two finale of Torchwood left me in a big puddle of tears... and I am not even the weepy type. But tonight, things are back to normal, or at least as normal as they can be with two less staffers around. I've seen most of the five-hour third season already -- don't worry, there's no spoilers here -- and I am so excited to see how the rest unfolds.
In Children of Earth, a big bad is wreaking havoc and taking control of the minds of all the little kiddies on the planet. Frankly, all they had to do to give me chills was make kids act robotic or murderous-like. I still can't watch the X-Files "Eve" episode alone, and the Doctor Who ep "The Empty Child" gave me nightmares for an entire week. So this one, laid out over five episodes, promises to be good and creepy. Oh, and there's issues with who Jack, Gwen and Ianto can trust and all that, and some major life developments.
Fair warning to newbies, the first episode starts out a little sluggish, but you'll want to stick it out.For more on Torchwood (which airs on BBC America at 9 PM ET, check out what Gwen (Eve Myles) and director Euros Lyn had to say about the show. And if the handsome Captain Jack isn't your cup of tea... there's always The Bachelorette and Dating in the Dark.
