The new season of LA Ink kicked off last week, and while Kat Von D is running her shop and coming up with fantastic tattooed portraits, she's still as freakishly obsessive about her staff as ever. Some of her designers have headed off for greener, or less nutty, pastures. Don't get me wrong, I like Kat, I watched her on Miami Ink like and addict, and was thrilled she got her own show, but she seems like she'd be a hard person to work for, to say the very least.
And this season, she's breaking in some new employees. Poor them. Especially since one of them is Aubrey from Rock of Love, who clearly is only working there to extend her 15 minutes of "fame," since she has no discernible work skills. Wait, is flirting with Kat's little brother a skill? If so, then she's mastered that. Which is how she got the job. Though the skeptic in me wonders if there wasn't a bit of producer interference to cast a boobilicious famewhore to stir things up a little bit. If that was their plan, it's working. Kat also hires another new employee this week, one to actually do some tattoos, so that should be interesting.
I just can't wait for the episode where Kat loses her shit and screams at Aubrey. That's going to be good times.

The casting of Aubrey on a show like this just smacks of desperation. I'm really surprised Kat allowed it.
i have been watching la ink for the last three episodes and i find corey to be extremely two faced and jealous. Corey and the older lady training Aubrey state that they are Kat's good friends however they allow her to micro manage the shop. i just think corey is a pussy. glad the new yorker is there.
yeah Cory is starting to seem like a Puss, but at least his work is amazing!! But Aubrey!, Jesus Christ did they really just cast her to piss people off and stir things up? I can hardly imagine a more annoying person to work with and I don't know what to think of Kats management. Paulie from BK was a great addition, seems like a genuinely good person and hasn't even had a chance to prove himself as an artist, and if they are gonna force him out and keep Aubrey i'm just flabbergasted. I'm losing love for LA Ink!
I think that Cory, Daniel and Kat are mean and hateful people and I would never work for them. I felt so bad for Paulie, he needed to work so he could pay his bills but Kat and her hateful band of misfits have stone cold hearts and all they care about is talking smack on other people and giving poor Aubrey a hard time as always. Hey LA INK you get more fly's with honey than with vinagar! Aubrey invited everyone in that shop to go and watch her perform when she was going to do standup, and poor thing she buckeled underpressure. Why can't they treat her alitlle nicer and give positive reinforcement and maybe Aubrey would feel at ease and comfortable and she would work better because she would not be fumbling from all that nervous energy. People need comformation of their efforts. If you give people a chance and are kind you will find that people are willing to give in return. Treat someone the way you want to be treated.
I stopped watching altogether once Paulie left. I'm not even going to LA ink for a tattoo I'm going to NY and searching out Paulie. His work is awesome (from what LITTLE we got to see) and he is such a sweetheart! I still like Kat, and I definitely respect her as an artist, but I think it's getting a little high school in her shop, you know? I've tuned out until things cool down and Aubrey starts getting treated like the psycho brat she is. I WILL add that the other people in the shop are a little harsh to her, but it's understandable because she slacks off, yet tries to buddy up to the people she’s mooching off of. That’s like dissing someone and then asking them to hang out with u. She's DEFFINATELY a natural blonde, and she ruined a perfectly good chance with Kat's hot friend with her baby obsession. ONE of her is too many!!!!!!!
Either way let me know when LA Ink decides to graduate into adulthood with the rest of us.
