If you like Hell's Kitchen, you might want to check out the female, pink-clad version of Gordon. Her name is Blythe Beck, and she's the executive chef of Central 214 in Dallas. She screams at some of her staff, including calling her sous chef Eric a monkey (instead of a donkey!). But mostly she's just raunchy and likes to say outrageous things in order to provoke people. She's plus-sized, hasa deep gravelly voice, is a strong believer in vodka therapy and hates all waiters... unless they're super-sexy.
She's more than a bit irreverent, which shows when she hobknobs with elite Texas wine snobs, who seem unimpressed by her uncouth brutalization of the English language. Especially when she tells the host that one vintage "smells like dirty barnyard." It's classy. The rest of the staff you could take or leave, aside from high-heeled, fast-moving general manager Megan, who seems to be the glue that holds this whole show together. I only got to see the first episode, and I'm not totally satisfied, but I'm tempted to go back for a second helping.
