November 18, 2009: America's Next Top Model

While we will admit to being slightly biased against some of the characters on this show this season (which Erin's mother totally called us out on), I have to say that the right two women went home last week. Jennifer occasionally had some very good shots, but she didn't always know what to do with herself, and ditto Erin, who also happened to not be particularly nice. Remember her shoving people in the Wal-Mart race?

That leaves Nicole and Laura, and while both of them take amazing pictures, I'm all of a sudden not remembering a whole lot of runway walking challenges this season. If I remember right, Nicole did well at go-sees, so I guess her walk was good then, but I really have no idea which of the two is stronger in that regard. Probably Nicole, but only because Nicole seems poised in everything she does, while Laura can occasionally come across as awkward. But I like Laura a lot more, and she seems to want it more, so I hope she pulls off an upset. Also, that accent is adorable.

The season finale of America's Next Top Model airs tonight at 8/7C on the CW. For more options, see our Week in Preview!

IIRC, Laura had the better walk, as Nicole tends to flounder when it comes to things that require physical coordination. Nicole is much more professional in terms of interviews and acting challenges, but they both have a strong photo portfolio. Meanwhile, they've both been given extremely positive edits all season long, but after Laura's edit last week showed nerves aplenty and sudden posing problems from out of nowhere, I'm pretty sure Nicole has this one in the bag.

Things have changed so much from past seasons. In the past, the girls had many runway challenges by the fabulous Ms. Jay but I don't remember the girls having any this season. In the past with Danielle, Tyra dogged her every week for not losing the accent, I can't say the same for Laura. Same with their appearance for judging. Why are all these short girls wearing flats? Is that realistic at all in this industry?

Laura is from the next town over from me, about 20 minutes away (which means we shop at the same Wal-Mart). I too think Nicole will win, but I'm pulling for Laura. I love accents!

I don't think I've ever rooted for someone on ANTM more than I've rooted for Laura. I have this strong feeling Nicole will win, but I want Laura to so badly! But yeah, there was only that runway challenge against the taller girls, and I don't think there was anything else. I guess they took up too much time with smizing.

I am a Laura supporter, too. That girl is just so pure of heart, I'd love to see her take it. I don't dislike Nicole, but Laura just rubs me the right way.

I think they haven't done many runway challenges this season because from what I understand there generally isn't much runway work for petite models--it's mostly print.

The end of this season reminds me of the end of Danielle's (Dani's) season, when she edged out Joanie FTW. Either one could win this season, and either way I'll be perfectly happy.

While I think both Nicole and Laura were amazing, I do feel that Laura's walk on the cat walk was waaaay better than Nicole's hands down! And personality to boot which radiates a room. Nicole did take better photo's overall. But I still Laura should have won it - hands down!!!

Laura had it hands down, but again it didn't happen! Her personality alone made her a better choice and her talent was just a added bonus. I really hope we see where someone in the business gives her the chance to be a model like she should be.

I could swear I've seen Nicole in a John Frieda TV ad the past few weeks BEFORE the finale(s). I always thought she was the best model, but Laura really nailed the runway show. Would have been happy if either had won.

So i know i am coming in a bit late on this question but what was really with them cutting down on the amount of runway this season? Every model agency
i have ever auditioned for wanted to see some runway, and when i say every i mean EVERY!!!! that really killed the show for me. Even Hollywood has to go all Hollywood on me now. More about the reality show drama, than the actual things people have to go through to get a real contract.
