I really wasn't smitten with this show from the premiere the way that some people were. I thought it was solid acting on a decent show, but didn't really find it compelling to watch again. I think perhaps it was the "ripped from the headlines" aspect that seemed irksome and like it would get old quick. However, I was recently convinced to give it another chance, and now I'm actually hooked. Not because I've suddenly become fascinated with the political aspects, since the whole Chris Noth storyline is still my least favorite part. Let him rot in jail for all I care. It's an interesting set up for some of Alicia's emotional issues, but what really appeals to me is the actual legal drama. It's smart, well-written and well-acted. I've been consistently impressed with the law firm and the way they handle their cases.
It's been a while since I've been really hooked on a legal drama. Sure, Damages is great, but the cases are far from what draws me in there, and I long ago passed my Law & Order threshold. Really, the early seasons of The Practice were the last strictly legal show that I was obsessed over. Sorry Victor Garber, but I just couldn't get into Eli Stone. But The Good Wife works. And I enjoy it, and in tonight's case Alicia is defending a scientist accused of arson, but frankly she could be defending a Cheeto accused of not being cheesy enough and I'd be enthralled. So, if you, like me, tuned out after one episode, give it another shot. And if you've been hooked all along, let's help spread the word.
If you want some other options, check out our week in preview.

I like this show. I was meh at first when I saw the previews. I like Chris Noth and Julianna Marguiles, but it was the presence of Josh Charles that got me to start watching, and I'm glad I did.
I like this show also- I caught several of the early episodes on my DVR OnDemand and was hooked.
Can't watch it because of Marguiles...
I really like the show, too. My DVR is pretty packed on Tuesdays but I'm glad I can watch it on demand!
Yeah and they put those Christians in a bad light-way to go!!!
You right Christians are the #1 hate group!
Question, if you love the show so much Ms. Cohn, why isn't it blogged about here? There are no major blogs that cover the show, which is a serious problem that should be redressed...
I like this show a lot but for the opposite reasons of this blogger. The legal aspect is the weakest part to me.
