Basically the threesome are now fortysomething guys all at different crossroads in their lives. Roman's a recently separated dad, Bakula's a playboy actor who isn't getting the roles he used to and Braugher's a car salesman/harried father. But yet they are all good friends and support each other through the ups-and-downs or some equally feel-good message. Sort of like Sex and the City, but with boys.

I doubt I'm the target demo for this show, but I'll give it a whirl. I've got a feeling it will be like all those other TNT series. Good, solid, well-acted and fine to watch when I have time, but not quite awesome enough to make me DVR it on a regular basis.

Men of a Certain Age debuts tonight on TNT at 10 PM. But our Week in Preview has other options.
