I'm going to take a rare break from squeeing about Jersey Shore right now and talk about tonight's airing of the annual SNL holiday special. It's a great tradition, filled with Schweddy Balls, "I'm Gumby, dammit!" and the greatest Christmas jam of all, "I Wish It Was Christmas Today-ay," but this year they're just going crazy and having Kristen Wiig's Gilly character host the event as well. Personally, I love Gilly -- and Will Forte's work in those sketches in particular -- but so many people hate that character! Are they nuts? Clearly, they are. And I like it. Merry Christmas, dammit! It's SNL holiday special day! A Very Gilly Christmas airs on NBC at 8 PM tonight, but if you're one of those Gilly-hater people, check out the Week in Preview for other shows on tonight.

I love me some Gilly! Bring it.
Saw it yesterday. I must admit, not having seen any "Gilly" sketches, I don't find her funny.
Did enjoy most of the older stuff: Schweddy, Steve Martin's Christmas Wish, and the original NRFPTP Winter Wonderland especially.
Gilly is awful. Those skits go on forever and they are the same thing over and over - much like everything else Wiig does.
Kristin Wiig is one of the few talented people left on SNL but Gilly is such a waste of a character. She isn't funny and only produces misery for the ten minutes the skit runs on for.
Gilly SUCKS. Must have looked in the bottom of the barrel for that one cuz you've hit it!
I've really tried to give GILLY a chance. But it's just an awfull character. I TIVO'ed the "Very Gilly Christmas Special". I thought maybe it was just me, so I had friends over, and we all watched it togather. No one thought it was funny. Often, something is so bad, it's funny, or you can at least joke about it later on. Not Gilly! The skits are stupid. I now become physically ill when I see Gilly. I wish they would have her head blow up, and they could retire Gilly for good.
Gilly's minimalist comedy at it's best.
