Thanks to the Olympics starting, tonight is Heroes' season four finale. And I hate to call for putting people out of work, but I really do hope it's a series finale as well. Abysmal ratings aside, this show has had three seasons to get back on track, and it has just proven over and over again that it's completely unable or unwilling to do so. After three chances and ratings for new episodes that frequently dip below four million viewers, you don't deserve a fourth try. But it's NBC -- there's no telling what that mess of a place is going to resort to to fill out its naked schedule.
The decision won't come until all the new pilots are completed and viewed by the network, so jury's still out on a Heroes fifth season. And even though there's no justifying it, I have a bad feeling it's going to get another year to waste time and money on an entire season of stagnant filler episodes. What story has been told this season? There's a carnival. OK, there's a carnival. Sylar "doesn't want to die alone." Claire's a maybe lesbian. Elisabeth Rohm is a better actress than she used to be. Parkman is a foodie now. Great. I'm so glad I wasted 19 hours of my life watching all of that groundbreaking stuff develop. Well worth it. Great storytelling, guys.
You might as well put syndicated reruns of Sister, Sister in its timeslot. If you're not going to do anything with the stage, let somebody else have it.
The Heroes finale is on at 9 tonight. I have to watch it because it's my job to. What's your excuse?

I don't care what NBC does with Heroes, as long as it doesn't mess with Chuck.
It ticks me off that Heroes gets to run itself into the ground for 3 seasons while good shows get chased off the air in their first season just as they are getting good.
I agree with @Lauren. Nobody better mess with Chuck!
I would totally watch Sister, Sister over Heroes! Not that Heroes is going anywhere anytime soon, because this show has NO self-awareness whatsoever. The same misguided force that has been keeping Smallville running for 316 years is going to work the same dark magic on Heroes, and any remaining goodwill we may have had for Season 1 is going to be utterly depleted. Take note, Heroes. Even the last guy at the party has to leave at some point, you can't keep making an ass out of yourself forever.
I enjoyed the entire season, and the finale was a great conclusion to the volume.
You are aptly named, no critic.
This season just made me so very sad. So many wasted opportunities. As soon as that umpteenth Noah Bennet retcon started I was like, I am so done with this show. Sucks to be Lyle Bennet. Maybe he got disowned for refusing to worship at the Altar of Claire.
