Wednesday, February 17, 2010: Leverage

It's the season finale of Leverage, y'all! If you've been watching this season, you've gotten to spend some time with your old friend Jeri Ryan, as Gina Bellman has been on a leave of absence, so get ready to maybe say good-bye to her, unless they decide to keep her around for another season. This episode is called "The Maltese Falcon Job," and supposedly features the crew's greatest con yet, which... is really saying something, because some of them are so complicated and contingent on a specific series of events they verge on far-fetched. But I guess it would have to be pretty good to earn the name "The Maltese Falcon Job." Otherwise, it would probably be named after one of Bogie's lesser works. ("The In a Lonely Place Job"?)

In this episode, the crew needs to take down a corrupt mayor, and things get dangerous! (Uh-oh. See ya, Jeri!) Apparently, everyone in law enforcement is after them at this point, which makes me wonder if this is the best time to be pulling a con. Haven't these guys ever heard the phrase "lay low"? I don't watch every episode of this show, but I like knowing that Timothy Hutton and Christian Kane -- and, for now, Jeri Ryan -- are all gainfully employed, so hopefully, the show will continue. If not, an elaborate con may be called for, in which TNT finds themselves unknowingly renewing the show for another season, and/or possibly on the hook for a truckload of stolen artwork.

Leverage airs tonight at 10/9C on TNT. For more options, check out our Week in Preview!

I love this show. I look forward to it every week, and it has been great this season. I don't know if thise finale will be as good as The First David Job/The Second David Job from season one, but it is definitely quality.

I do have to say that I think Hardison should lose weight. Now, I don't hate looking at his new muscles AT ALL, but that kind of physique seems to be taking away from his computer nerdiness of times past. Meh. If that's my biggest problem with a show, then it's a good show.

Those aren't new muscles on Hardison. Aldis Hodge is a longtime martial artist. They've just been hiding them from us.

I was very disappointed to see the Blonde leave laast night. She is terrific and far superior to the Sophie character. In fact, I find Sophie boring and that dyed black hair is awful. Hope Leverage wises up and brings back the so entertaining blonde. Love the show.
