The adorable Adam Richman is hitting the big time! Instead of his normal half-hour Travel Channel series, tonight he gets a beefy two-hour show that's LIVE! I'm more than a little bit excited. I'm a big fan of Man v. Food and Richman, so spending extra time with him trying to ingest massive amounts of food is pretty much my dream. Oh, and it's got some Super Bowl tie-in aspect to it, but I'm not sure that I particularly care all that much about that.
Adam is apparently attempting the artery-clogging "biggest food challenge in America" that's located in sunny southern Florida. His mission? To eat 48 oz. of steak. That's a lot of meat. On the way to Miami, where folks are all excited for this weekend's football game, he'll be showcasing other food rivalries and indulging in tempting tailgating treats. I realize that watching a grown man stuff three pounds of beef in his face within a short period of time may not be everyone's cup of tea. However, for those who regularly tune into the 4th of July hot dog eating contest or other feats-of-strength type shows, this series is perfect. Plus, Richman is seriously charming with his eager demeanor and ability to make the most ordinary foods sound delicious. He can make a cheesesteak sandwich sound like a five-star meal. That's a real talent.
So grab a healthy snack and sidle up to the TV starting at 9 PM on the Travel Channel.
