BLOGS
As someone who just jumped back into Big Love this year after abandoning it midway through Season 1, I've really enjoyed it, in a kind of batshit-crazy-things-happen-every-minute, Nip/Tuck kind of way. I understand that the show used to have deeper and more emotional explorations of faith and family and misogyny, but for now, more illegal parrot trafficking! Don't get me wrong, I've had a lot of fun watching this season (and honestly teared up a bit when Dale killed himself and when a purple elephant-costumed Margene apologized to Bill for kissing his son), but, you know, this is far from the brilliant drama I was promised before the season started.
Which brings me to the finale. I'm sure it will be eventful and action packed, but I'm not sold on the stakes here. Nicki's sick of being a sister wife, but she's never going to get her way and have Bill all to herself (though my god, why would she even want him?). Maybe she'll leave the marriage in the finale, but I doubt it. And what, exactly, is so scary about Sissy Spacek's character? What's she going to do? Expose them as polygamists? They were already going to do that themselves in like five minutes anyway.
Whatever happens, I'd love for it to end Bill's idiotic and selfish political campaign. I just hope no parrots are harmed in the process.
Big Love airs on HBO tonight at 9 PM, but if you've also noticed that Bill Paxton is the worst actor on the planet, and the fact that Ginnifer Goodwin and Jeanne Tripplehorn are brilliant just doesn't cover that up enough for you, our Week in Preview has other viewing options for tonight.

"Bill Paxton is the worst actor on the planet"
Wow, that was a bit harsh. You're telling me you can't ONE person who is worse than he is?
"Ginnifer Goodwin and Jeanne Tripplehorn are brilliant"
I will say I agree with that. Both are very underrated, especially JT.
