So tonight is when I'll get to see if this becomes my new weekly guilty pleasure, or if it is like Life Unexpected. Both had pilots that sounded stupid in premise, but charmed me over with sweetness and family drama. (Much like Everwood back in the day.) However, Life Unexpected's charm wore off in episode two and that sweet show is now a show about a slacker, an annoying Shiri Appleby and a bratty teen. I can barely tolerate it... though for some reason I still keep watching hoping it will return to form. I'm hoping that Parenthood actually rises up to the challenge and finds a way to give Peter Krause something really meaty to do, since I really do like the majority of this cast, and I want to support a show that is keeping half of Hollywood in business. Oh, and am I alone in thinking like Peter Krause's teen daughter (pictured) looks like she is 34? Maybe. I find it entirely distracting.
