I've always found that Easter Sunday is the perfect time to sit and watch like Easter Parade and shows on History channel about the Bible, but this year I'm adding Life to the mix. While it took me a while to make it through the first highly disjointed episode of this series, I am now hooked. The first episode was all about predators and the challenges of life, but it was a little all over the map. Now they've got specified themes, tonight's focus being on Birds and Creatures of the Deep. And Oprah is surprisingly not yelling, "Antttttelllllloooooooopes" every five minutes.
Now I've always been obsessed with the ocean, so the 9 PM hour is the one I'll be most excited for. I'm just hopeful that it isn't too repetitive from content we've scene before. Because while watching the mating habits of those sea snakes or whatever in the amphibian episode, or seeing that poor octopus who gave birth to her offspring and then literally curled up and died in the challenges one were both fascinating, I want all new material. I know that this must have cost a fortune to make, and I appreciate the scope of it, but I was a little disappointed to see the cool lizard that ate the praying mantis in both challenges and amphibians, admittedly from different angles, but still -- if I'm going to devote hours of my life to a nature documentary, I'd like it to be original.
Anyway, tune in for the whole two hours, or in bits and pieces. Either way, you'll probably be wowed by the special effects. It is on starting at 8 PM on Discovery Channel.

Awwwww dammit. From the title I thought you were talking about the show with Damian Lewis.
