Happy Birthday, Bones! The show is celebrating its 100th episode tonight and heading back in time to celebrate. The show is looking back to the very first time that Booth and Brennan were on a case together, which actually seems like it could be fun. Hoping they'll really exaggerate Brennan's social awkwardness and literal mindedness, because I always loved that back in the day. I'd also love it if the Chinese restaurant made a return.
I wasn't convinced back when this show started airing 100 episodes ago that it would last this long. Don't get me wrong, I was hooked on the show from the start, but then again as a Buffy/Angel fan the show was practically required viewing. But still, a show about crime-solving partners are pretty much a dime a dozen, and Fox does make a habit of killing shows that I enjoy, so I thought that this was a goner. The constantly moving timeslots didn't do all that much to convince me otherwise, either.
But between Emily Deschanel's well-played brainiac character, a tightly developed supporting cast, Boreanaz's goofy agent and the tension between the leads, this little show developed into more than I could have hoped for. And while there have been more than a few episodes I'm not particularly fond of and some odd choices that had me scratching my head, I'm glad this show has survived against the odds.
The episode airs tonight at 8 PM on Fox. Don't forget the birthday candles.

I have to respectfully disagree with Angel Cohn. Emily Deschanel's performance has always rubbed me the wrong way. If she was replaced I go could go back to watching the show.
I am totally surprised, the shows I like you usually mock. Well done, It does take a bit to understand Brennan (Emily's) character, but if you give her a chance, you would love her. Congrats Bones on 100 episodes, here's to 100 more.
Well, congrats to the show for getting to 100. It was amazingly acted, wonderfully directed, and yet my feeling is.....F U SHOW! Seriously, there needs to be some major payoff & soon for me to be ok with that.
