But at least it looks like the show is going out with a bang. Melinda (Hewitt) and her husband find out more about their son's supernatural powers, and things come to a head between the good spirits ("Shinies") and the bad spirits ("Shadows"). Plus, the husband's hospital, which is a constant source of creepy traumatized ghosts, just so happens to have a sealed-off polio ward from the 1900s, and the hospital is immediately haunted by a parade of creepy dead kids in masks and hospital gowns. It's a little bit Doctor Who, but that's not a bad thing, and it's certainly a way to increase the creepiness quotient for the season (probably series) finale. Rest in peace, Ghost Whisperer.
