Hey guys, don't look now, but... Lost is ending tonight. I know, it snuck up on you, right? Us, too! They didn't tell anybody! It's like they were keeping it a secret! They even changed nights for the finale, perhaps hoping that no one would see their bloated, two-and-a-half-hour wrap-up episode that will supposedly answer an acceptable number of the 5,000 questions this show has prompted since its debut. While we doubt the number of answered questions will be anywhere near acceptable -- the list of unanswered ones is long, and more will likely be raised by the finale itself -- we'll be happy to get anything at this point, and we're looking forward to having our Tuesdays free for a while after this.
In fact, we may start making plans for this Tuesday, because the show has decided to obliterate our Sunday night instead, giving us two hours of pre-show starting at 7:00, then the 150-minute episode at 9:00, then the news, so we can watch the world collectively melt down as a global phenomenon comes to an end. Then, at midnight, it's time for Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost, which will have the Lost showrunners on to present three alternate endings. We don't know how many of the endings will be "real," and how many will be jokes, but we're in it to win it, so we'll be watching. That is, we will if we haven't already hurled ourselves off of our balcony in a Locke-inspired attempt to silence the ghostly whispers of unanswered questions still echoing in our heads. Or, because we forgot to DVR the Celebrity Apprentice finale. Neither scenario is pretty.
The Biggie-sized Lost finale event starts tonight at 7/6C and ends tomorrow. Check out our newly updated guides to the best and worst episodes, the best character backstories, the most worthless characters, and what the actors should do next!

Well, don't wait till after it airs. Go ahead and throw yourself off the balcony now. It's not like it's going to make any difference at all.
I think the alternative endings are "real", by which I mean they were filmed to confuse the press as to which ending is the real one.
My favorite part about the ads telling us about the three alternate endings is that they're "never-before seen." Unlike the finale, which has been seen by everyone already?
Tuesday has the DWTS & Biggest Loser finales, Monday has the finale of 24 & the premiere of The Bachelorette, and Wednesday is the finale of American Idol. No wonder they decided to put it up against Celebrity Apprentice instead.
they put it on sunday because only on saturday and sunday can you have four hours... and nobody watches tv on saturdays...
They've been saying it would air on the 23rd for the past 2 months, so...
I don't think it was a surprise.
Was anyone goofy enough to air a new ep of something against the series finale of Lost?
