TV can't always be exclusively about dancing, meth, bachelorettes, angry chefs, and New Jersey -- though, all together, that would make an awesome show. What would it be called? So You're Breaking the Bad Bachelorette Nightmare of New Jersey? I'd watch it. But anyway, what I'm trying to say is that the 2010 World Cup starts today!
The beauty of the World Cup is that you don't have to even really like soccer to enjoy watching the games. There are so many other people who are already insanely into the event, all you have to do is show up at a bar, arbitrarily choose a country to root for and soon you'll be a regular hooligan! If all else fails, stick with the U.S.A, because tomorrow they're playing England, and Lord knows it will be fun to get drunk and make Revolutionary War soccer puns about the match. Perhaps it'll be the Battle of Soccertoga? You get the idea.
The games start today on ESPN with South Africa vs. Mexico at 10:00 AM ET and Uruguay vs. France at 2:30 PM ET. Get yourself all riled up by watching any of these classic sports comedies/dramas. And if you can think of some good soccer-Revolutionary War puns, for the love of God, leave them in the comments!

Here's today's burning World Cup question - why is the World Cup trophy not a cup????
If you're absolutely forced to watch this thing, at least there are plenty of hot foreign guys and announcers with accents.
Anyone else feel a little slighted with a 1-1 tie after all that buildup?
Not in the least, it was a fabulous match.
GOAL!!!
