The equation has changed! That's the tagline for this season of Eureka, which I presume means big doings in the eponymous town full of scientists with poor judgment. I can't imagine the general formula will be affected (a science experiment causes chaos and the sheriff has to solve the problem using science and common sense), but it looks like there will indeed be at least one new variable. That variable? Gaius Baltar!
Okay, not the actual Gaius Baltar, but the actor who played him on Battlestar Galactica -- James Callis. Callis will play a character from the early days of Eureka in tonight's season premiere, and when our favorite Eureka residents are sent back in time (conveniently in period garb) on Founder's Day, Callis comes back with them to be a new regular, as well as a love interest for Allison, changing history in the process. We think. That also means he'll be around later in the season, when Wil Wheaton guest-stars as a jerky scientist and Jo Lupo must fend off a zombie outbreak. ...Okay, we're now officially kind of excited about this season, and we may even stick around to watch the new series Haven, which looks like Eureka's supernatural twin sister. Even if Eric Balfour is in it.
Eureka Season 4 premieres tonight at 9/8C, followed by the series premiere of Haven. Watch preview videos here, and read an interview with the Eureka's stars!
