Anyway, the Southern spitfire, played by the once again Emmy-nominated Kyra Sedgwick, kicks off the new season with a case involving a murdered man who liked to take pictures of celebrities who live in his neighborhood. Also, Brenda does not like the new building she and her team have moved into, including the hit-you-over-the-head interrogation room, although a big box of candy may mitigate matters. On the bright side, in the next episode Capt. Raydor (Mary McDonnell) returns, and we find out she and Will Pope (J.K. Simmons) are running for Police Chief of the LAPD, which means Brenda might be up for a promotion. We hope she gets it, because we're pretty sure that the fifth time is not the charm for Sedgwick at the Emmys.
