I thought that Hoarders was about as disgusting as a TV show about gross living environments could get. I was wrong. After watching the premiere of this show last year, I was thoroughly skeeved-out and really just wanted to take a long shower and scrub my entire house from top to bottom... and I don't even have any pets. In the premiere episode alone, there was a guy who had so many cats in his house that his ailing wife had to move out, and when he finally was convinced to call animal control, they found not one, but two long dead cats in among the dozens of living ones.

It seems quite crazy, especially since the two people in the premiere really seemed like genuinely caring people who loved animals and had their hearts in the right places... but things just got out of control. Really out of control, like a white couch resembled a dark brown shade and the entire place smelled like ammonia and there were feces all over the place. That's not only bad for the humans, its bad for the cats and dogs that are suffering in these terrible conditions as well. The poor, sad little kitties... it is really hard to watch.

Tonight's episode focuses on a man who has to choose between his wife or his animals and a woman who has more than 80 dogs living with her in one trailer. I'm not even sure how they all fit. The show airs tonight at 9 PM on Animal Planet. You probably won't want to eat first.
