Still, what makes this show entertaining isn't necessarily the challenges (which are interesting/horrifying) but Richman himself. He always puts on a brave face, adds a bit of comedic wit and seems to have an endless enthusiasm for foods of all kinds. There's a reason that I keep watching this show on a weekly basis while other travel food shows (aside from No Reservations) are more of catch-as-I -can kind of thing. While I probably have a better chance of actually visiting most of the locales on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Guy Fieri is more than I can really handle.

The show airs on the Travel Channel tonight at 9 PM. There's also Top Chef on Bravo at 10. It's a good night for vicarious eating!
