At least with Helfer I've seen her guest-star on other shows like Chuck and Burn Notice, so I have something to base my enthusiasm off of. Apparently, she plays an FBI agent who has been placed in charge of Dylan McDermott's team of undercover LA cops as part of a joint task force, and apparently this will affect McDermott's personal life somehow. Of course, Helfer isn't exactly a laugh-riot, so I doubt she's going to lighten the show's mood at all, but I guess enough people liked the show's bleak outlook and drab pallette to get it renewed. Hopefully, Helfer will bring in some more viewers, like me, and get them to watch on a regular basis. Maybe the show should take a page from Chuck and have her go undercover as a stripper?
