Tuesday, October 12, 2010: Teen Mom

It's the season finale, where we finally get to see Catelynn and Tyler's touching reunion with the daughter they gave up for adoption. Actually, I couldn't care less about those two. They pretty much bore me to tears. Why does this show spend so much time on them? I get that they are trying to show the post-adoption process, which is interesting and probably educational for some, but these two, they are about as exciting as dry toast. How did they become prom king and queen? Their school must suck, or be easily swayed by people who are on the TV.

Sure, Catelynn's fights with her mom are interesting, but they aren't as amazing as the one's that Farrah has with her mother. Though, even those have been tame for a while. I hope that means that they've saved up the crazy for the finale. And if Farrah (who has somehow become slightly sane, even if she does sometimes leave her toddler on the kitchen counter) can't bring the drama, I'm hoping that Amber does. Her explosive fights with Gary are terrifying and I worry for that poor baby, but like a trainwreck, I can't stop watching her. The way she can get to that high-pitched screaming level in a matter of seconds is really quite impressive (though I do recommend lowering the volume if you see her start in).

As for Maci, who is probably my actual favorite mom despite the really stupid tattoo she has on her back, I'm hoping that things work out for her. She moved away from home to be with her boyfriend, and that didn't go exactly well. And while I could have told her that (and her friends and family totally did), she seems to be owning her mistakes and making the best of it. Plus, she cleans a mean house. She supposedly hooks up with baby daddy Ryan, and given their tense past, I'm interested to see how that plays out.

Teen Mom airs tonight at 10 PM on MTV. And if that's not enough of an annoying teen fix for you, might I suggest The Good Wife? Alicia's kids are really pretty grating.
