This new show on the Cartoon Network isn't exactly groundbreaking. In fact, it's sort of X-Men Lite, but it's fun in a teen sort of way, and it has more of an interesting mystery in the first episode than No Ordinary Family has served up so far, which is saying something. So if you're looking for a combo of sci-fi, super powers and teen drama, this is better than the Wizards of Waverly Place, and you don't even have to watch Selena Gomez. Bonus!
The gist is that this kid Ian, who has the power of "preflex" (he can see things right before they are about to happen) wakes up one day at a cultish private school with no ability to contact the outside world. He's trapped inside a walled campus, with woods and creepy guards (think Harry Potter and the spiders) and befriends some other kids with powers to help figure out what the deal with their school is. Or even where their school is. It's an interesting enough premise, and while I can't say that I'll watch it religiously, it certainly is perfectly fine for what it aims to be. Though it should be noted that, despite the network, it is a live-action show.
Tower Prep debuts tonight on Cartoon Network at 8 PM.

And typical for the Cartoon Network, the person who created the Closed Captioning has no idea what people are saying.
