While I'm most excited for the premiere of the disastrous-sounding Skating with the Stars -- even though I wasn't a super-fan of Skating with the Celebrities -- on Monday night, I don't know if I can sit through the Dancing With the Stars episode that precedes it. Instead, I'm glad to have this HIMYM Thanksgiving episode to watch.
Even if it isn't as good as Slapsgivings past, it still has Hurley! This episode isn't even focused on slapping, instead it is Blitzgiving, where Jorge Garcia is playing a friend from college (aptly named The Blitz) who has more than a little bad luck. Ted's doing something with Zoey, but I really don't care one whit about that.
The episode airs at 8 PM on CBS... its better than a never-ending episode of Dancing With the Stars.

I used to love this show so hard. But i started not caring who the mother is right around Season 3 and when season 4 rolled around I found myself only caring for Robin and Barney. But I've completely lost patience and now that they pulled that stupid Punchy-stunt ...it being his wedding and NOT Barney&Robin's as everyone I know was hoping ....they lost me.
I was pretty glad it isn't going to be Robin/Barney because I thought that would make little sense though it would be ironic that they married before Ted. Anyways I'll care about the mother when we meet her until then I care enough about Lily, Marshall, Ted, Barney and Robin plenty enough to still enjoy the show.
I agree with yb125 completely. That's exactly how I feel about the show. Even if the show had never been about the mother, I'd still enjoy watching this group of people. I don't understand people who get so hung up on that.
And the wedding being Barney's and Robin's never made any sense to me. I'm sure we'll get back to it this season, and that would have been too fast a turn-around for those characters to make any sense. If they do get back together (and I'm not sure I want them to), it would be more satisfying if they both had to work for it a bit.
I still don't understand how the wedding from the season opener is supposed to be Punchy's. First of all, why would Marshall and Lily be invited to the nuptials? And even if they were invited, why would Marshall be involved in the wedding? Marshall is clearly seen wearing a flower and that's reserved for people involved in the wedding. Does anyone have a logical explanation for that?
I'm just afraid the annoying Zoe is shaping up to be the Mother. PLEASE don't let that be true!
