I'm only an occasional watcher of Medium, so I won't go so far as to call myself a fan, but I will say that I enjoy the show when I watch it, although I do wish Allison would once in a while remember that her precognitive dreams are totally unreliable, and often deliberately misleading. I'm particularly a big fan of Jake Weber as Allison's husband Joe, so I'm actually a little disturbed by the capsule summary of tonight's series finale.
In the press release for the episode, titled "Me Without You," the headline is "Allison and Joe Begin New Careers That Take Them in Different Directions," and it goes on to say that, "When Allison becomes a lawyer and Joe starts a new job, the Dubois family is forever changed." Now, it seems like Joe's always starting a new job, but why is he moving in a different direction from Allison, especially now that she's a lawyer raking in the big bucks? And why, in the publicity photos, is Allison interrogating a prisoner who's holding up a photo of Joe? Joe better not die, is all I'm saying. I don't care if Allison talks to his ghost for the rest of her life, nobody better kill Joe. Not that it will affect me one way or the other, since I'll probably be twice as likely to watch Weber's next project, whatever it is.
The series finale of Medium airs tonight on CBS at 8 PM, opposite new eps of Supernanny, Kitchen Nightmares, Clone Wars and Man Caves.
