The drag contestants do all of the insane photo shoot challenges that a Top Model would, but they also have to do their own hair and makeup, often make or create their own costumes, frequently have to dance, wear the most insane high heels available on the planet, have to compete in a weekly runway challenge, and if they end up in the bottom two, they have to lip-sync for their lives. It's actually really impressive.

But the reason to watch this show isn't for the challenges, necessarily, it's just a good time. The judges (Ru, Santino Rice and Michelle Visage) are always joined by a guest (for tonight's premiere, it's Vanessa Williams) and they have a great time. Ru seems to have a great rapport with the people trying to be the next great drag star, and there's a lot of attitude, as you'd expect with contestants going by the names of Venus D-Lite, Mimi Imfurst, Delta Work and Yara Sofia.

The drag race starts tonight at 10 PM on Logo (it's a plus-sized episode, so DVR accordingly). It's followed by an Untucked special, sort of a mini-reunion with plenty of behind-the-scenes dish.
