Saturday, January 1, 2011: V

When you're done recovering from your New Year's hangover and can only handle watching something significantly less exciting than the night you just had, you can turn on the V marathon tonight on ABC. It's also the perfect thing to watch if you want to fall asleep early to make up for staying up late the night before since nothing ever happens on the remade series.

Starting with the pilot, they will be airing a few episodes from Season 1 before new episodes for Season 2 begin January 4th. If you've utilized your time watching more interesting shows and don't know the premise of V, it's about an alien species, known as the Visitors, arriving on Earth who appear to be peaceful, but gradually expose themselves as having underlying motives. And Scott Wolf is in it, as well as Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet from Lost). Judge the series for yourself, or avoid the disappointment and Netflix the original and much more thrilling 1983 miniseries.

The suspiciously peaceful aliens arrive on Earth at 8 PM on ABC.

They'll be showing both original mini-series, and the first 6 episodes from the original series next week on the Sci-Fi channel.

File this one under "shows that I desperately want to get better because it has potential." I like a lot of the raw materials - storylines, actors, etc., but it's not nearly as thrilling or smart as it should be.

I agree, tvgirl17. It isn't such a bad show, but could be a fantastic show with better writing. It has a great cast and a good concept. Hopefully this season it'll improve.

If they got rid of Mitchell...my gawd she was horrible in Lost and just brings this show to its knees in despair. But I do agree better writing and great concept!!

@ugg I think the fact that we are viewers give us the right to judge. We are entitled to express our opinion, as you are to express yours. It's called free speech. And the fact that everyone seems to agree, even the professional television reviewer, seems to indicate we are more correct in our views than you are.
