Who would have thought that a crime show about a mystery writer who has a will-they-or-won't-they relationship with his police detective partner would last this long? Oh, yeah -- everybody. Because that's, like, the scientific formula for creating a TV show that a lot of people will like. (On an unrelated note, 12% of Americans are over 65.) Still, we're happy that Nathan Fillion has found a role that keeps him in front of audiences for longer than eleven episodes.
In tonight's episode, Castle and Beckett investigate a body found in a pizza oven. There aren't any big guest stars, unless you consider the lead actor from Blue Mountain State to be a big guest star, but it looks to be an entertaining story, as it follows the feud between three pizza restaurants, called Authentic Nick's, Terrific Authentic Nick's and Authentic Terrific Nick's. The show may film in L.A., but they certainly can pick a New York-centric storyline.
Castle airs tonight at 10/9C on ABC, opposite new episodes of Harry's Law, Heavy, Bethenny Ever After, All About Aubrey, Pawn Stars, The Hard Times of RJ Berger, Kate Plus 8, Stargate Universe, Nurse Jackie and United States of Tara.

I really like this show. And it's not just due to my undying love for Nathan Fillion- the writing is funny and cute and the characters have chemistry. The little shout-outs to former Fillion roles make me laugh. Sure it's formulaic and fairly predictable, but Mondays are rough and sometimes it's nice to just zone out on a pleasant show to end a long day.
I wish TWoP would recap this show though...
