Tonight's series premiere establishes the show's Odd Couple-like premise, which finds the happily divorced couple still forced to co-habitat due to their rocky financial situation. Still, neither of them is about to let this unconventional arrangement get in the way of pursuing the single life. Of course, it doesn't help that Fran's geriatric parents (Robert Walden and EGOT legend Rita Moreno) live close by and drop in whenever the mood strikes them. In this progressive day and age, a gay ex isn't a hindrance when it comes to starting a new relationship. But annoying, privacy-invading parents? That's a deal-breaker.
