It's Beyond Belief, but not the awesomely bad James Brolin "Fact or Fiction" version with the cult following. It's actually the name of a segment on ABC's new summer show, Nightline Prime. Nightline Prime is a 13-week primetime summer series, and Beyond Belief, the show's first segment, is an investigation into the "extra-sensory and spiritual" that begins tonight. Apparently Beyond Belief will cover "stories that defy proof and perception." Primetime covering things it can't explain? Innnnteresting!
Tonight's investigation is something that made me wish I was a twin when I was younger -- "Twin Tuition," the idea that twins can know what one another is thinking, or share physical sensations even though not together. Next week it's people claiming to have spoken to the Virgin Mary, and the Devil, and then people that have had out-of-body-experiences when in a near-death experience... it's like The Da Vinci Code meets Paranormal State meets 60 Minutes, but better.
Beyond Belief premieres on ABC tonight at 10 PM.

So... fiction masquerading as fact? How is that new? It's like watching Fox News. It's like Wolf Blitzer the other day wishing he could do stories on the economy, but was somehow compelled to talk about Anthony Penis instead. Bullshit, you'll blather on about whatever is the most sensational, whether it make any sense to do so or not. This is no different. NO ONE has EVER spoken to the "virgin" Mary since she passed away over 2000 years ago. Get over it.
These topics aren't "beyond belief," they are "based purely on belief, because there is no evidence to support them."
Man, I was really hoping this was gonna be the Fact or Fiction show, too! Damn!
I would like to be able to judge for myself but this series is never on. Never shown in my area only advertised. So my sense is this is a ghost of a series.
I LOVE the show!! Very intersting and hope it is a long term show, not just a couple of episodes.
It is the romance of the mystery I love. For those who have had the experience the event is real. For those who disbelive they will never accept an experience or have the faith.
