And... there goes my summer. The all-consuming show begins again, airing on CBS three times a week and streaming online 24/7. So yeah, that's my life. A world where strangers do nothing and I sit transfixed, I begin to sit around doing sit-ups while they work out like they are somehow my gym buddies and where I religiously tune in to see what Julie Chen is wearing. I'm not saying that I'm proud of this fact, just that no matter how I try, Big Brother keeps sucking me back in.
There's some sort of twist this season where pairs come back into the house for some purpose, but frankly, the twists rarely pay off, and I would rather find new people to hate than to see some old familiar faces. Not every show needs an All-Star component. And it certainly didn't really help the last season of The Amazing Race or Survivor, so I'm sort of dreading that in a way. But you know, if it gets me more Dr. Will or Janelle... I'll somehow deal with it, I suppose.
The show debuts tonight on CBS at 8 PM.

I've watched every season since the very beginning (Chicken George, anyone???) - but I am also dreading the "Season of the Retread".
I know I am getting tired of seeing the same old people popping up on shows I used to watch like Survivor and The Amazing Race. If they are going to do an "All Stars" season that's one thing - but to keep bringing back past losers - count me out from watching.
Aaaaah, my summer crack has returned!! Am I sick of seeing the same people over and over? maybe a little (although I enjoyed the hell outta TAR this season), but it just doesn't matter when it comes to BB. I get sucked in no.matter.what. That is the power of the Chenbot my friends.
I don't mind so much the houseguests coming back, just so long as Rachel from last year isn't one of 'em. Or Evil Dick. Or that meathead Jesse. Or that tool that kept folowing Will Kirby around. Or....
Y'know what? Screw that! Forget the reruns! Stick with the new players!
well, they've pretty much ruined this season until that annoying hyena prostitute goes home. The pairs concept is stupid in the first place and then to bring back somebody who all of America hated like the plague is even dumber. It's already almost unwatchable.
Why does anybody watch this show? To me, the genre is going downhill, getting sucked down the drain opened by whatever crap MTV and VH1 is showing these days . . . and even good shows like The Amazing Race aren't immune. And shows like BB don't help, since -- from what I understand -- 90 percent of the contestants cast are complete assholes. Why waste three months on the likes of, say, the Donatos, or "Mike Boogie"? Surely, we don't hate ourselves that much, right?
I love to watch Big Brother every season
