Billed as both a dark comedy and an action-packed horror serial, Death Valley is the brainchild of -- and I'm not making this name up -- Spider One (a.k.a. Michael David Cummings), lead singer in the metal band Powerman 5000. More significantly, he's the brother of White Zombie frontman Rob Zombie, who has launched a successful second career as a horror movie director, helming such pictures as The Devil's Rejects and the not-bad Halloween remake. The most recognizable faces in the ensemble cast probably belong to Tania Raymonde, who Lost fans will remember as Rousseau's doomed daughter Alex, and Bryce Johnson, from Popular and more recently, Pretty Little Liars. Hey, does that mean we should expect the Smoke Monster to drift to California for a guest spot?

Death Valley premieres tonight at 10:30pm on MTV.
