The show returns for Season Eight with a major change at Dunder Mifflin Sabre's Scranton branch. At the end of last season, Michael departed for Colorado with his fiancée, Holly Flax, leaving his job open for the new regional manager, Robert California (James Spader).

In the season premiere, California charms his way up to CEO, taking Jo Bennett's job, and leaves a mysterious list behind with the name of each employee on one side or the other, causing panic in the office. The replacement for Michael Scott's replacement is still a mystery, however: Jim, Dwight, Andy and Darrell are all in the running for the open regional manager position, but at this point, it could be anyone's.

Season Eight of The Office premieres tonight at 9 p.m. on NBC.
