After sweeping the comedy categories at the Emmys on Sunday, Modern Family returns tonight with dude ranches, possible new children and... Tobias Fünke?
The opening of Season 3 sees the family on at a dude ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for a vacation that's probably anything but relaxing. The family dabbles in cattle herding, skeet shooting, riding horses (and sharing horse rides, as evidenced by promo shots of Jay and Phil promo), but it all comes to a head when Jay faces off against Hank, a real, live cowboy.
This season also features the new Lily, 4-year-old Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, who replaced Ella and Jaden Hiller, because kids grow up faster in television world than they do in reality, don't you know. In the second half of the hour-long premiere, New Lily gets her first screen time after not taking Mitch and Cam's announcement that they are going to adopt another child so well. Also new to the cast is David Cross, who will recur as Duane, a city councilman that is at odds with Claire.
The special one-hour season premiere of Modern Family airs at 9 p.m. tonight on ABC.

This show is so bland. Ty Burrell is the only really good thing about it, and I think he deserved the Emmy. But the show did not. Can't believe Community didn't even get nominated. Parks and Rec should have taken it, it is consistently more funny that MF.
Please, MF wipes the floor with both Community and P&R.
