In the Season 3 premiere, Jonathan receives some distressing family news, while Ray and Emily spend time with his son (sperm donation baby?), and George is just George, in all his womanizing and weed smoking glory. In coming episodes, the trio find themselves in a series of precarious positions that make perfect sense once you remember Jonathan is a Craigslist private detective - from dressing like flamboyant poets in navy turtlenecks and high-rising khaki slacks to hanging from the Williamsburg Bank building's clock tower, furry mascots having sex, Ray's frustrations with being a "Park Slope mom" and who knows what else. At least Jonathan will have plenty of fodder for his next book (although I'm not so sure anyone will want to hear about the mascots).

Season 3 of Bored to Death premieres tonight at 9 PM on HBO.
