The series jumps ahead year in time (like last night's Dexter!), allowing the hospital to adjust to life without the resident medical genius or Cuddy. Joining the cast will be Dr. Chi Park (Charlyne Yi) as a smart and timid resident, Dr. Jessica Adams (Odette Annable) as a new member of House's diagnostics team, and a mysterious new Dean of Medicine.

As for the hospital's longtime employees, House and Wilson's friendship isn't quite what it used to be upon House's return, considering Wilson was present during the whole driving-a-car-through-Cuddy's-house thing. Taub is still dealing with getting two women pregnant last season (way to go Taub!), Thirteen will be around briefly while Olivia Wilde flirts with the silver screen, and Foreman and Chase have experienced vague changes during House's stint in jail. Basically, life went on without House. Good for them.

Season 8 of House premieres tonight at 9 PM on Fox.
