In tonight's hour-long special, the gypsies of Britain and the Irish Travellers plan multiple weddings, parties, and first holy communions, including a First Communion parade in Cork and the Christmas wedding of 17-year-old Lavinia, who arrives to her wedding only to discover that her groom is missing because he's too busy getting drunk with his friends at the local pub. To top it off, we get to see them go holiday shopping, which will make us feel so, so much better when we get too extravagant for the holidays because it's only a fraction of what these guys spend.

My Big Fat Gypsy Christmas airs tonight at 8 PM on TLC, opposite the finale of Survivor on CBS.
