For now though, this horror-themed hobby is solely the domain of the documentary, The American Scream, which premieres tonight on Chiller. Directed by Michael Stephenson -- who previously made the enjoyable doc Best Worst Movie chronicling the legendary cinematic disaster that was Troll 2 -- The American Scream follows three sets of "home haunters," folks who transform their ordinary houses into residences for the macabre whenever Halloween rolls around. Basically imagine a bloodier, spookier (and cooler) version of those overdecorated Christmas abodes that crop up every December and you'll have a sense of what home haunting is all about. After seeing what these professional haunters come up with, you'll feel especially guilty about your only Halloween decoration being a lone, lame pumpkin.

The American Scream airs tonight at 8pm on Chiller. If you're in the mood for other spooky entertainments, there's new episodes of The Walking Dead on AMC at 9 PM and 666 Park Avenue on ABC at 10 PM. Meanwhile, over on CBS, The Mentalist reaches the 100th episode mark at 10 PM. Let's hope they don't invite Red John to the anniversary party.
