Sunday, October 2, 2011: Dexter

In the upcoming season of Dexter, an enlightened Dexter Morgan is trying to reach out and touch faith -- in the bloodiest way possible, naturally.

The new season (which is jumping a year ahead in time, because that worked so well for every other show that did it...) will feature several guest stars, including Mos Def as Brother Sam, a former criminal who now looks up to a higher power; Edward James Olmos as the creepy Professor Gellar; and Colin Hanks as Travis, the professor's eerie young mentee, who all try to steer Dexter down the right and wrong paths. The "avenging angel," as promos call him, will be searching for some kind of faith, possibly still thinking killing people makes him an agent of good (a throwback to Season 2), even though he's, you know, killing people...

Season 6 of Dexter premieres tonight at 9 PM on Showtime.
