Tuesday, July 16, 2013: Perfect Score

For when your OKCupid searches just didn't provide anyone trashy enough.

Beginning in the early days of television, game show contestants have tried not only to win big bucks, but to find love as well. And while dating on TV has certainly gotten skeevier over the years, most programs try not to be too obvious about their contestants' desperate search for money and fame (well, aside from Next. God, I miss that show).

Perfect Score is switching this dynamic up, opting for total honesty about why its contestants are participating. On this show, each week two players get to know a total of 12 suitors by asking them questions over several rounds. At the end, each contestant must choose which single they think is their best match (a title that is determined through the completely scientific and totally not bogus method of "compatibility tests"). The potential dates are ranked one through 12 and assigned an according amount of cash. Whoever picks the person closest to their "perfect match" wins the money and the date. The loser goes home with nothing.

So this summer, be prepared to lower your standards. No, that's not a comment on the quality of this show. That is literally Perfect Score's tagline. Literally. I guess now we know how all those Newlyweds couples met.

Catch the premiere of Perfect Score at 9 PM on the CW, following the first episode of the revamped Whose Line is it Anway? at 8. At 10 PM, USA is kicking off its 3rd season of Suits, so expect lots of Matt Bomer Tumblr GIFs come Wednesday.
