In between saving the world from the Kaiju and helping Thor out in Asgard, Idris Elba found time in his busy film schedule to continue the adventures of his British detective, John Luther. Although after Pacific Rim, now we want to see a crossover where Luther teams up with Jaeger-meister Stacker Pentecost to battle supernatural creatures and attractive female psychopaths.

Like the similarly praised Sherlock, each season of Luther runs a scant three episodes, making it extremely easy to catch up in time for its return. And you'll want to catch up, too, because apart from Elba's always charismatic presence, the series offers one of the great male/female partnerships around right now and consistently tense, exciting crimes to solve. Tonight's third season premiere, for example, pits Luther against a killer who likes to spend some time hanging out in the houses of his victims before he kills them. Man, don't you just hate moochers like that? Especially when they repay your for your unsuspecting hospitality by slicing your throat.

The Season 3 premiere of Luther airs tonight at 10 PM on BBC America opposite a new episode of Catfish on MTV and aChopped competition pitting sports stars against each other. At 9 PM, watch the premier of Oxygen's risible new reality series My Big Fat Revenge… if you dare.
